How will the WSABI® Leadership profile help me improve my prospects?

The WSABI® Leadership Profile will identify where you can improve your leadership style and therefore assume greater authority, responsibility and accountability. Whereas the Attributes Profile is concerned more with how you can best contribute personally, the Leadership Profile looks at your capability to lead others to greater achievements as a group.

Your Leadership Profile shows how your current preferred working style compares with our research findings into effective leadership. Please note that there is a fundamental difference between leadership and management: a leader causes others to follow. To do this they must trust your judgement and respect your position. So the first thing you need to look at is how you add value and how you can increase your knowledge and understanding of strategic matters. How do your peers currently regard you? What can you do so that they will more readily follow your lead and support your initiatives?

Although we talk about an ideal range of competencies and traits please remember that this is dependent on context. In a crisis, a leader needs to be commanding and decisive. Therefore one factor to bear in mind is to proactively assess the situation and be able to adapt accordingly.

There is no magic bullet. A key trait of an effective leader is the desire to constantly learn and improve. The WSABI® Leadership Profile provides a snapshot in time. In this respect it provides a base line from which a targeted coaching programme can deliver measurable developments.
